Subject : STATEMENT FOLLOWING WEST SUMATERA EARTHQUAKES DATED 30 SEPTEMBER 2009

Dear Travel Partners,
 
I am sure that many of you are concerned about the earthquakes of 7,6 Scale Richter that have been happening in Pariaman Village, Padang, West Sumatera on Wednesday, 30th September 2009 at 17:16 hrs local time. According to feedback from some of overseas business partners, there has been information going around Russia and CIS countries that Bali has also been affected by the earthquake as the Island of Bali is part of Indonesia.
 
We would like to clarify that there has been NO earthquake in Bali. As far as Bali is concerned the distance between the Island of Bali to Padang, West Sumatera are approx. 1,859 km and if the journey will be taken by airplane will take around 3 hours flight. As for the tsunami alerts, please note that the warnings has been lifted and was issued as a security measure.
 
We would just like to reiterate that Bali is safe to travel and we look forward to serving your clients at this destination.
